H06.25 Software Installation and Upgrade Guide

This guide describes:
Upgrading the initial H06.25 RVU through the use of site update tape (SUT) refreshes, if
necessary.
Falling back to a previous SYSnn.

Supported Release Version Updates (RVUs)
This manual supports the H06.25.00 RVU and all subsequent H06.25.nn RVUs unless otherwise
noted. Exceptions are described in the text.
Intended Audience
This guide is written for operations staff and support personnel and requires a working knowledge
of Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008, HP NonStop Open System Management
(OSM) Interface client and server components, system console software, NonStop Software
Essentials, DSM/SCM, Target Interface (ZPHITI), and ZPHIRNM applications.
New and Changed Information in This Edition
This edition includes these changes:
Multiple Providers per CLIM functionality and the requirments for CLIM fallback from H06.26
an earlier RVU are described in A. If Falling Back to H06.25 or an Earlier RVU” (page 113).
When upgrading to H06.25 from an earlier RVU, the processors must be hard reset after
halting and before loading the system as described in “4. (Required for Upgrade to H06.25
or Later) Perform a Hard Reset” (page 114).
SQL/MX Release 3.2 replaces SQL/MX Release 2.3.4 as the default SQL/MX version on the
SUT. Users have a choice of staying with the latest SQL/MX Release 2.3.4 SPRs released as
Time Critical Fixes (TCFs) or to migrate to SQL/MX Release 3.2.
