H06.26 Software Installation and Upgrade Guide

Upgrading the initial H06.26 RVU through the use of site update tape (SUT) refreshes, if
necessary.
Falling back to a previous SYSnn.

Supported Release Version Updates (RVUs)
This manual supports the H06.26.00 RVU and all subsequent H06.26.nn RVUs unless otherwise
noted. Exceptions are described in the text.
Intended Audience
This guide is written for operations staff and support personnel and requires a working knowledge
of Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008, HP NonStop Open System Management
(OSM) Interface client and server components, system console software, NonStop Software
Essentials, DSM/SCM, Target Interface (ZPHITI), and ZPHIRNM applications.
New and Changed Information in This Edition
This edition includes these changes:
Multiple Providers per CLIM functionality and the requirments for CLIM fallback from H06.26
an earlier RVU are described in A. If Falling Back to H06.25 or an Earlier RVU” (page 115).
When upgrading to H06.26 from H06.24 or an earlier H-series RVU, the processors must be
hard reset after they are halted and before loading the system as described in “4. (Required
for Upgrade to H06.25 or Later) Perform a Hard Reset” (page 116).
NonStop Server for Java 7.0 (NSJ7) is the first release of NonStop Server for Java to be
delivered via RVU instead of as an independent product and supports the latest Java SE 7
standard.
SQL/MX Release 3.2.1 replaces SQL/MX Release 3.2 as the default SQL/MX version on the
SUT.
NonStop Software Essentials 2.1.0 is provided on the H06.26 SUT and includes these and
other new features:
Viewing Upgrouped Packages has been added to the Host Navigation Pane under the
Software in Archive Node. This application-defined group contains a list of all software
packages in the archive that do not currently belong to any user-defined package group.
$ZTC0 has been removed as a default stack. NonStop Software Essentials 2.1.0 runs on
$ZTCP0 and $ZTCP1 by default. You can add other stacks for use by NonStop Software
Essentials.
