H06.27 Software Installation and Upgrade Guide

2. Close the Processor Status dialog box.
3. Verify that the NonStop operating system is working properly:
a. Check the startup TACL window to verify that the startup scripts completed successfully.
b. Check the startup event stream window and the startup TACL window for error messages.
4. To determine if at least one of the maintenance Providers is working:
a. From a TACL prompt, enter the command:
CLIMCMD clim-name hostname
b. The command can timeout and fail if it is issued while the SSH and TCP/IP processes are
still coming up after the system load. Check the returned clim-name and Termination
Info value to confirm that the command was successful. If the returned clim-name does
not match the name that was entered in the command and/or the Termination Info value
is not 0, wait for five minutes and retry the command. If the returned values are still not
correct, wait another five minutes and retry the command a third time. If the command is
still not successful, see the Cluster I/O Protocols (CIP) Configuration and Management
Manual for troubleshooting tips about identifying an incompatibility in CLIM and host CIP
software
5. Close the System Startup dialog box.
For more information on system loads, the NonStop Operations Guide.
7. (Optional) Updating the CLIM Firmware
If necessary, (if you did not update the CLIM firmware while the system was down), update the
CLIM firmware using the OSM System Console as described under “Managing CLIM Firmware
(page 35). See the NonStop Firmware Matrices for firmware levels.
