About This Document This compendium provides categorized information about new features, migration issues, and fallback considerations for H06.28. It also includes references and sources for migration planning. Supported Release Version Updates (RVUs) This manual supports the H06.28 RVU only. Intended Audience This compendium is written for system managers or anyone who needs to understand how migrating to H06.
1 H06.28 Overview This chapter provides an overview of the H06.28 RVU. Major New Features Table 1 summarizes the main changes in H06.28. For descriptions of new features, see the appropriate chapters. Table 1 Summary of the H06.
• 8 For an H-series overview, see Section 1 of the H06.
2 Operating System OSS Core Utilities The Open System Services (OSS) Core Utilities product (T1202 version H01AAC) introduces the following new features: • GNU findutils, consisting of: find, locate, updatedb, and xargs. • GNU grep utility. For information about the OSS Core Utilities, see the “OSS Core Utilities User Commands” appendix in the Open System Services User’s Guide. Migration Considerations The OSS Core Utilities (T1202) can coexist with the Open System Services utilities (OSSUTIL T8626).
3 Application Development Products NonStop Server for Java 7.0 Update1 NonStop Server for Java 7.0 Update1 includes functionality, enhancements, and defect fixes equivalent to Oracle releases up to and including Java 7 U25. It includes security fixes released by Oracle up to October 2013. NonStop Server for Java 7.
Fallback Considerations None. HP JToolKit for NonStop Server for Java 7.0 and 6.
4 Database and Transaction Processing Products SQL/MX 3.2.1 SQL/MX 3.2.1 has the following new features: • AUTOCOMMIT, a connection property option. This feature allows you to indicate in SQL/MX if a transaction must be committed automatically or not. Windows, Linux, HP-UX and OSS drivers support this feature. The JDBC T4 driver supports this feature too. • A new 64 bit version of ODBC/MX Linux driver is available to support 64 bit database applications on Linux that accesses the NonStop SQL/MX database.
5 Installation and Configuration Products The H06.28 RVU contains no new features for installation and configuration products.
6 Manageability and Security Products NonStop SSH This release of NonStop SSH adds enhancements to accept lists of IP addresses/hostnames for the configuration parameters INTERFACE and INTERFACEOUT, instead of accepting only a single IP address. It introduces the new parameter DNSMODE to allow consideration of all IP addresses mapped from a hostname by DNS, not only the first one. For more details, see the SSH Reference Manual.
Fallback Considerations If Safeguard is downgraded to an earlier version, the new functionality is not available.
7 Hardware Products 16 Hardware Products
8 Networking Products iTP Secure WebServer 7.5 These features are added for this release: • Support for encrypting exported keys and importing already encrypted keys The keyadmin and dbmigrate utilities now support exporting the keys stored in key database in PKCS#8 format encryption. The keys are encoded using either PEM or DER format and then encrypted using one of AES256/AES192/AES128/3DES encryption methods. Default is AES256. The default encoding algorithm is PEM.
Migration Considerations None. Fallback Considerations • If you use the -hashAlgorithm option and fall back to older versions, the iTP Secure WebServer fails to start. Delete the -hashAlgorithm option from the AcceptSecureTransport directive to start the iTP Secure Webserver. • Older versions of iTP Secure WebServer are not compatible with the MaxPostRequestSize directive. Startup fails if this directive is used.
A Sources for Migration Assistance and Information This appendix describes the assistance HP provides when problems arise during the migration and testing process. HP also provides services that can help you develop a migration plan and implement migration tasks. Most migration and release documentation is available through the HP NonStop Technical Library (NTL).
By providing access to a data warehouse with SPR information for many different RVUs, Scout makes SPR analysis fast, easy, and accurate.
