NonStop Multicore Architecture (NSMA)
HP Integrity NonStop BladeSystems employ the NonStop Multicore Architecture (NSMA) which
offers high performance, high density, and software fault-tolerance with industry-standard,
commercial hardware data integrity. There is one logical processor per NonStop server blade.
Each logical processor is a dual–core multiprocessor. Each core is an Instruction Processing Unit
(IPU). All IPUs in a logical processor share the same memory map (except for a small per-IPU
anchor area for low-level software). There is one X and Y ServerNet interface per logical processor.
The J-series RVUs of the HP NonStop operating system run on the new NonStop Multicore
Architecture and NonStop BladeSystems.
For details, see the NonStop BladeSystem Planning Guide.
