J06.04 Software Installation and Upgrade Guide

For more information on configuring and getting started with OSM, see the OSM Migration and
Configuration Guide.
OSM Client-Based Components
Like other system console software, the OSM client-based components are triple-threaded; that is,
they support G-Series, H-series, and J-series RVUs. For J06.04, the OSM SPRs are:
T0632G07^AAW (OSM Notification Director)
T0633G06^ABD (OSM Low-Level Link)
T0634G06^AAR (OSM Console Tools)
Highlights include:
While triple-threaded, the OSM Low-Level Link has functionality specific to modular I/O, NonStop
NS-series systems, and NonStop BladeSystems, including:
A System Load dialog box provides the ability to:
Load the system from an alternate system load configuration that was previously saved
on the system console. After a configuration is saved, you can load the system using
mirrored disks without reviving.
Save a system configuration on the system console for future use.
Configure Module action, used to configure IOAM
Power On System action (NS-series systems and BladeSystems only)
Reset action for FCSA and G4SA, plug-in card (PIC)
OSM Notification Director, T0632G07^AAW, includes support for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL),
which is required for HP SIM support. To enable SSL, see the OSM Migration and Configuration
Guide.
For more information on OSM client applications, see the OSM Migration and Configuration
Guide or the online help available from within each application. To upgrade an existing system
console to the latest console software, see the NonStop System Console Installer Guide.

DSM/SCM and the J06.04 RVU
The DSM/SCM H02 PVU (T6031H02) is supported for NonStop NS-series servers and
BladeSystems only.
A new type of hardware platform and selectable option, TNS/E, for NonStop NS-series servers
has been added to the Planner Interface (PI) screens. See the DSM/SCM User’s Guide for
configuration information.
By default, the DSM/SCM H02 PVU is configured to manage OSS files. Check that OSS is
configured and started if DSM/SCM is set to manage OSS files. If not, the Apply can fail.
CNFGINFO supports system generation options for dynamic-link libraries (DLLs).
