Safeguard Enhancements
Enhanced OBJECT-TEXT-DESCRIPTION Field Support
Safeguard now supports the OBJECT-TEXT-DESCRIPTION field in the authentication records
of the following objects:
• Disk files
• Disk volumes
• Disk subvolumes
• Devices
• Subdevices
• Processes
• Objecttype
• Sec-Group
The description field of an authorization record can be used to store additional information about
objects. This information can be used in the management of the object authorization record. The
object text description can contain 255 bytes of text.
Fallback Issues
When falling back to the previous RVU:
• The SAFECOM/SPI INFO object-name name, DETAIL command will not display the
OBJECT-TEXT-DESCRIPTION field for an object authorization record.
• The SAFEART tool will read the new/old audit records without displaying the
OBJECT-TEXT-DESCRIPTION field for an object authorization record.
OSM Enhancements
OSM has these enhancements for the J06.05 RVU:
• OSM Service Connection is enhanced to support NonStop Carrier Grade BladeSystems,
including the ability to monitor and access the web interface for alarm panels and DC
maintenance switches.
• OSM Low-Level Link has an enhanced capability for comparing and updating Halted State
Services (HSS) firmware on NonStop BladeSystems.
• OSM Console Tools provides a new CLIM Boot Service Configuration Wizard, a tool to
configure NonStop BladeSystems to have the BootP/DHCP server on designated Internet
Protocol CLuster I/O Modules (IP CLIMs) instead of on the NonStop System Consoles.
