Safeguard Enhancements
Safeguard supports the following enhancements for the J06.08 RVU:
The Guardian File System Error Record is a new secondary audit record, generated by the
Safeguard audit client, called the Guardian File System. This record is generated when
diskfile operations, such as CREATE, OPEN, READ, PURGE, WRITE, and RENAME, return
an error value greater than 0. The secondary text area type associated with this record is
FSERROR.
The Guardian File System Error Record is supported only on systems running J06.08 and
later J-series RVUs.
MID is a new option added to the Safeguard configuration attribute
CHECK-DISKFILE-PATTERN that evaluates the diskfile pattern protection records:
After the diskfile protection record search returns NORECORD when Direction-Diskfile
is set to Filename-First.
— Before the diskfile protection record search, when the Direction-Diskfile is set to
Volume-First, and VOLUME and SUBVOLUME protection record search returns
NORECORD.
This attribute is supported only on systems running J06.08 and later J-series RVUs.
The AUDIT-TACL-LOGOFF attribute is a new Safeguard global configuration attribute that
controls audit generation for the TACL LOGOFF or TACL EXIT operations based on the
values of AUDIT-AUTHENTICATE-PASS and AUDIT-AUTHENTICATE-FAIL subject
audit attributes.
This attribute is supported only on systems running J06.08 and later J-series RVUs.
Migration Considerations
None.
Fallback Considerations
The CHECK-DISKFILE-PATTERN attribute with the MID option is not backward compatible.
To fall-back, change the CHECK-DISKFILE-PATTERN attribute value to any of the FIRST,
LAST, ONLY, or OFF options before the fallback.
The Safeguard Global Configuration attribute AUDIT-TACL-LOGOFF is not backward
compatible. To fallback, change the AUDIT-TACL-LOGOFF attribute value to OFF before
the fallback.
OSM Enhancements
OSM Service Connection (T0682H02^ABX) supports these enhancements:
Support for HP Insight Remote Support Advanced (an alternative to the OSM Notification
Director for remote services), including an action to Test Incident Report Delivery Paths.
Persistence of alarm and problem attribute suppression across OSM server sessions.
New actions on the Processor Blade object to retrieve or clear the Forward Progress Log.
Creates alarms and dialouts when there are too many Corrected Memory Errors (CMEs)
and, in the repair action of an OSM alarm, identifies the DIMM or memory board that needs
replacement.
For BladeCluster support, the function of configuring switches for use in a BladeCluster has
been moved from the OSM Low-Level Link to the Add Node to ServerNet Cluster guided
