Enscribe64 Partitions
As of the J06.11 RVUs, a new Enscribe file type, enhanced key-sequenced (EKS) file, is introduced
and extends the Enscribe partition maximum to 64. An EKS file supports 17 to 64 partitions and
is for format 2 files only. The previous Enscribe key-sequenced file type supports 1 to 16 partitions
on format 1 and 2 files and is referred to as a classic key-sequenced file in the Enscribe
documentation. For more information, refer to the Enscribe Programmer’s Guide.
NOTE: Remote opens of EKS files on unsupported RVUs are rejected with error
FESERVERVERSIONTOOLOW (3505).
Migration Considerations
Compatibility and interoperability considerations:
Enhanced key-sequenced files are only compatible on systems running J06.11 and later RVUs.
Enhanced key-sequenced files can have secondary partitions on Expand nodes that are remote
to the node containing the primary partition and are running RVUs prior to J06.11 without
loss of functionality.
There is no migration impact for customers who are installing Enscribe 64 partitions on J06.11
and later RVUs when migrating from a previous RVU.
Fallback Considerations
Fallback to a previous RVU is possible with the following restrictions:
Enhanced key-sequenced files cannot be opened with structured access (as key-sequenced
files). Attempts to do so result in error FEINVALOP (2) being returned.
NOTE: The secondary partitions of an enhanced key-sequenced file can be opened using
unstructured access.
The primary partition of an enhanced key-sequenced file cannot be opened using unstructured
access. Attempts to do so results in error FEINVALOP (2) being returned.
TROUT Pathsend Requester Limit Increase
The TS/MP Router for NonStop Tuxedo now supports 2048 concurrent Pathsend requesters per
processor, and 4000 concurrent Pathsend requests per processor
Migration Considerations
None.
