Integrity NonStop NB54000c BladeSystem
The Integrity NonStop NB54000c BladeSystem provides a full-height server blade that features an
Intel® Itanium® 9300 quad-core processor. The Integrity NonStop NB54000c supports Flex
Processor Bay Configuration, a platform configuration that allows a choice of either sequential or
even/odd numbering of processors in an HP Integrity NonStop BladeSystem NB54000c.
Migration Considerations
• NonStop NB50000c server blades cannot coexist with NonStop NB54000c server blades
in the same c7000 enclosure or in the same system. For information about migrating a NonStop
NB50000c BladeSystem to a NonStop NB54000c BladeSystem, see the NonStop BladeSystem
Planning Guide. Service providers can find migration procedures in the Service Access
Workstation (SAW).
• The Flex Processor Bay Configuration requires two c7000 enclosures if you use the even/odd
processor numbering option or if you have more than 8 sequential blades in your configuration.
All BladeSystem configurations require a minimum of two server blades.
NOTE: If you need to add a second c7000 enclosure, ask your service provider to refer to
the Adding a c7000 Enclosure in a NonStop BladeSystem service procedure.
• S-series I/O is supported but not with Flex Processor Bay Configuration.
Fallback Considerations
Once you migrate a NonStop NB50000c server to a NonStop NB54000c server, you cannot do
a coldload to return to a NonStop NB50000c server and you cannot fallback to pre-J06.11
because the NB54000c requires J06.11 or later.
G6 CLIMs and New SAS Disk Enclosures (commercial versions)
HP introduces support for next-generation CLIMs and storage devices on these systems: NonStop
NB50000c and NB54000c BladeSystems and NonStop NS2000 systems.
The new CLIMs and storage devices require J06.06 or later.
The next generation ServerNet based I/O Adapter is an HP Proliant DL380 server with the Intel
Xeon 5500 processor family architecture. The new CLIM product has these features:
• Improved energy efficiency
• Dedicated integrated memory controller to each processor
• Double memory bandwidth to 1333MHz
• DDR-3 memory with address parity detection
• Embedded internal disk controller
• Double number of embedded NIC to 4
• RAID-1 mirrored Debian OS disk drives
