Configurations are similar to G5 CLIM configurations. Ask your HP service provider refer to the
NonStop CLuster I/O Module (CLIM) Installation and Configuration Guide for more information.
Migration Considerations
• The previous storage devices only work with G5 CLIMs and the new storage devices only
work with G6 CLIMs. All hardware can reside in the same rack as long as it is connected to
the appropriate CLIM.
• Daisy chaining is not supported for new devices. If you move storage devices from G5 to G6
CLIMs, you must reconfigure them without daisy chaining.
Fallback Considerations
See the planning guide for your system for information about the CLIMs and storage devices. The
new devices require the J06.06 or later J-series RVU. If you must fall back to an earlier RVU, you
cannot use the new CLIMs or SAS disk enclosures. If you fall back to an RVU between J06.06 and
J06.09 inclusive, you must add SPRs to those RVUs to support the new CLIMs and disk enclosures
because falling back to a previous RVU removes the required software. For a list of required SPRs
