Integrity NonStop BladeSystem NB54000c-cg
HP introduces the Integrity NonStop BladeSystem NB54000c-cg, a modified version of the
commercial Integrity NonStop BladeSystem NB54000c. The NB54000c-cg is built in accordance
with the Bellcore Network Equipment-Building System (NEBS) Level 3 requirements for typical
Central Offices.
Migration Considerations
NB50000c-cg server blades cannot coexist with NB54000c-cg server blades in the same c7000
enclosure or in the same system. For information about migrating a NonStop BladeSystem
NB50000c-cg to a NonStop BladeSystem NB54000c-cg, see the NonStop BladeSystem Planning
Guide. Service providers can find migration procedures in the Service Access Workstation (SAW).
Fallback Considerations
Once you migrate an NB50000c-cg server to an NB54000c-cg server, you cannot do a coldload
to return to an NB50000c-cg server and you cannot fallback to pre-J06.12 because the
NB54000c-cg requires J06.12 or later.
HP Integrity NonStop NS2200 Server Family
The HP Integrity NonStop NS2200 server family is supported as of the J06.12 RVU. They are a
replacement for, and provide similar functionality as, the NonStop NS2000 server family. The
NonStop NS2200 server family consists of three different platforms: the NS2200, NS2200T, and
NS2200ST. The NS2200 is an AC-powered system packaged in a standard HP commercial rack.
The NS2200T is also packaged in the same type of HP commercial rack and is DC-powered (-48V).
The NS2200ST is packaged in an extra sturdy seismic rack and is also DC-powered (-48V).
The Integrity NonStop NS2200 systems employ a boot methodology similar to that used by HP
Integrity NonStop BladeSystems. That is, they boot from Halted State Services (HSS) firmware files
that reside on either the NonStop System Consoles (NSCs) or two designated CLuster I/O Modules
(CLIMs) rather than from a CD-ROM drive in the blade itself, like NonStop NS2000 systems.
For more information, see the NonStop NS2200 Series Planning Guide.
NonStop NS2200 systems support G6 CLIMs and the SAS 2.0 Storage Subsystem. The G6 CLIM
is the next generation of the G5 CLIM. G6 CLIMs and the SAS 2.0 Storage Subsystem are available
in three different versions: Storage, IP, and Telco. Several configuration restrictions apply. For more
information, have your service provider refer to the CLuster I/O Module (CLIM) Installation and
Configuration Guide.
Migration Considerations
A NonStop NS2000 system can be upgraded with NonStop NS2200 blade elements. In this case,
all of the NonStop NS2000 blade elements must be replaced with NonStop NS2200 blade
elements -- blade elements of different types cannot be mixed in a single system. For information
on performing this migration, authorized service providers can refer to Migrating a NonStop
NS2000 Series Server to a NonStop NS2200 Series Server, located in the internal NonStop
Service Information collection in NTL.
Fallback Considerations
Fallback to a prior RVU is not possible for NS2200 systems.
