Gen8 CLIMs
HP introduces support for next-generation of CLuster I/o Modules (CLIMs) on these platforms:
• HP Integrity NonStop NS2100
• HP Integrity NonStop NS2200
• HP Integrity NonStop NB54000c BladeSystem
• HP Integrity NonStop NB50000c BladeSystem
The new CLIMs require J06.15 or later J-series RVU.
The next generation of CLIMs are based upon HP Proliant DL380p Gen8 servers and have these
features:
• DDR3 memory
• Embedded internal CLIM disk controller
• RAID-1 mirrored CLIM OS disks
• 6Gb SAS interface
• 8Gb Fibre Channel interface

Configuration Guide for more information about configurations.
Migration Considerations
Daisy chaining is not supported for new Storage CLIMs. If you move storage devices from G5 to
Gen8 CLIMs, you must reconfigure them without daisy chaining.
Fallback Considerations
See the planning guide for your system for information about the CLIMs and storage devices. The
new devices require the J06.15 or later J-series RVU. If you fall back to an RVU between J06.08
and J06.14 inclusive, you must add SPRs to those RVUs to support the new CLIMs because falling
back to a previous RVU removes the required software. For a list of required SPRs for these
