J06.17 Release Version Update Compendium
HP Integrity NonStop NS2400 Series Servers
HP introduces the HP Integrity NonStop NS2400 servers with up to 48GB of main memory per
NonStop CPU based on the Intel™ Itanium™ 9500 series processor. The NonStop NS2400 servers
consist of a family of three different platforms, the NS2400, NS2400T, and NS2400ST:
• NS2400 is an AC-powered server packaged in an HP commercial rack.
• NS2400T is a -48 volt DC-powered server packaged in an HP commercial rack and often
used in Telco environments and DC-powered data centers.
• NS2200ST is a -48 volt DC-powered server packaged in an HP seismic rack and often used
in Telco environments and DC-powered data centers.
NS2400 servers require the HP NonStop Operating System J-series RVU of J06.17 or later.
For more information about the NS2400 servers, refer to the NonStop NS2400 Planning Guide.
Migration Considerations
• Offline migration is supported from the NS2000 or NS2200 to an NS2400. For detailed
migration information, refer your service provider to the Migrating NS2x00 Servers service
procedure in the Services Access Workstation (SAW).
• NS2400 NonStop CPUs cannot be mixed with any other NonStop CPUs.
• The NS2400 servers support the current Gen8 CLuster I/O Modules (CLIMs). They also support
the previous G5 or G6 CLIMs. G2 CLIMs are not supported.
Fallback Considerations
The NonStop NS2400 servers require J06.17 or later J-series RVU. If you must fall back to an
earlier RVU than J06.17, the NS2400 servers will not be supported.
