Installing HyperTerminal on NSCs running Windows Server 2003
A serial terminal with a Baud rate of 115200 is required to update firmware for an R5500XR UPS
that is equipped with an HP UPS Management Card. The preferred method for all NonStop system
consoles is to use MR-Win6530 Terminal Emulator version T0819 G06 AAO (or later), available
on NSC DVD Update 19 (and later).
If MR-Win6530 Terminal Emulator is not available, and if the NSC is running Windows Server
2003, you can use HyperTerminal, which can be installed from the Windows Control Panel.
NOTE: This method is not available on an NSC running Windows Server 2008.
To install HyperTerminal:
1. Click Start→Control Panel→Add or Remove Programs.
2. In the Add or Remove Programs window, click Add/Remove Windows Components.
3. In the Windows Components Wizard, double-click Accessories and Utilities.
