The service representative writes an assessment report that provides a detailed
snapshot of your current NonStop S-series system environment. The report also
provides specific recommendations for migrating the eight IT domains to the Integrity
NonStop NS-series system platform. The service can be delivered as a standalone
service or combined with other evolution activities, from assessment and infrastructure
planning through actual migration.

HP NonStop Applications and Database Migration Planning and
Design Service
The HP NonStop Applications and Database Migration Planning and Design Service
addresses the applications and database domains, working with you to develop a
comprehensive plan and strategy for successfully migrating and deploying applications
and databases on the Integrity NonStop NS-series system platform. This service
follows completion of the HP NonStop Evolution Assessment Service and performs
these tasks:

Uses the information obtained during the assessment service.
•
Collects additional information.
•
Conducts joint planning sessions.
•
Performs detailed analysis.
•
Produces a detailed migration plan and report.
The primary goal of the service is to generate a detailed description of the activities
required to manage software configuration, application source code, development and
testing tools and procedures, and effective migration and deployment of the database.
Another goal is to develop plans and strategies tailored to your applications and
database needs on the new system platform to achieve the highest levels of availability
and performance at minimal risk to business continuity.
The service plan identifies the changes required for system software, applications and
utility programs, development and test environments, database configuration, and
database loading. The service plan includes a comprehensive report that describes the
scope and strategy for migrating the applications and the database, a detailed project

Migrating from the G-series to H-series operating system and
middleware requires some changes in software. Take an
inventory of all current software to determine which components
can be moved to the Integrity NonStop NS-series system and
which new software products are required.
