Steps for Moving an Enscribe Database Using the
BACKUP/RESTORE Utilities
1. From the NonStop S-series system, identify the Enscribe files and applications to
be moved.
2. From the NonStop S-series system, stop all applications that access the Enscribe
database for the duration of the BACKUP operations.
3. From the NonStop S-series system, perform the BACKUP command using a list of
Enscribe files identified in Step 1.
4. Move the magnetic tape that contains the backed up files to the Integrity NonStop
NS-series system.
5. From the Integrity NonStop NS-series system, use the RESTORE command to
copy the Enscribe database to the disks.
6. Confirm that the Enscribe data and applications were successfully migrated to the
Integrity NonStop NS-series system.
7. From the Integrity NonStop NS-series system, start the Enscribe applications.
8. From the Integrity NonStop NS-series system, make new TMF online dumps of all
audited Enscribe objects.

1. From the NonStop S-series system, identify the Enscribe files and applications to
be moved.
2. From the NonStop S-series system, stop all applications that access the Enscribe
database for the duration of the SQLCI DUP operations.
3. From the NonStop S-series system, use the SQLCI DUP command to duplicate
the Enscribe database to the Integrity NonStop NS-series system.
