Changing the System Name of a NonStop BladeSystem
-> ALTER, SYSTEM_NAME \sys-name
9. Confirm the system name change:
-> INFO, DETAIL
The results of the INFO command show that the operation is pending until the system load.
Shut Down the System
10. Shut down all subsystems.
11. From TACL, stop the OSM Service Connection:
> SCF ABORT PROCESS $zzkrn.#osm-cimom
12. Purge this file:
$SYSTEM.ZSERVICE.IAREPO
13. If any scripts, such as SCFCSTM or TACLCSTM, reference the system name, alter them to
include the new system name.
14. Verify that the $SYSTEM alternate key file does not point to the system name. From a TACL
prompt, issue this command:
-> FUP INFO $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.USERID,DETAIL
In the INFO display, confirm that the ALTFILE parameter does not contain the system name.
15. Log on to the Low-Level Link. When a dialog box appears about updating the system list, click
Yes.
16. Click the Processor Status button.
17. Select all the processors and perform the Halt action.
18. Close the Processor Status dialog box.
19. Log off the Low-Level Link.
Change the System Name in the c7000 ServerNet Switches
Each c7000 enclosure has two ServerNet switches: one in Module 2 and one in Module 3. Perform
these steps for all ServerNet switches in the c7000 enclosures.
NOTE: Group numbers for c7000 enclosures are either 100 or 101.
20. Using its IP address, log on to a ServerNet switch using the HP OSM Low Level Link.
21. Click System Discovery.
22. In the tree pane, expand the system name and navigate to either module 2 or module 3.
Right-click the module and select Actions.
23. In the Actions list, select the Configure Module action and click Perform Action.
24. In the Configure Module dialog box, enter the new system name in the System Name text
box. Do not use the backslash before the system name. Specify up to 7 alphanumeric uppercase
characters.
NOTE: The other values in the Configure Module dialog box were set at the time of installation
and should not be changed. See the installation guide for your system for an explanation of
the possible values.
For example, the NonStop BladeSystem Hardware Installation Manual has a section called
"Configure the c7000 ServerNet Switches."
25. Click OK to accept the values and close the dialog box.
26. When a dialog box, with warnings, appears that asks if you want to perform Configure
Module, click OK.
27. When asked to reset the ME, click OK.
