About This Procedure This procedure describes how to update all blade element firmware in an HP Integrity NonStop NS2400, NS2400T, NS2400ST, NS2300, NS2200, NS2200T, NS2200ST, NS2100, NS2000, NS2000T, NS2000ST, NS1200 or NS1000 server. Where applicable: • NS2400, NS2400T, and NS2400ST servers are referred to as NS2400/T/ST servers. • NS2200, NS2200T, and NS2200ST servers are referred to as NS2200/T/ST servers. • NS2000, NS2000T, and NS2000ST servers are referred to as NS2000/T/ST servers.

Updating Blade Element Firmware in an NS2400/T/ST, NS2300, NS2200/T/ST, or NS2100 Server This procedure describes how to update the firmware in an NS2400/NS2400T/NS2400ST, NS2300, NS2200/ NS2200T/NS2200ST, or NS2100 server one blade element at a time while the system remains online.

Updating Blade Element Firmware in an NS2000/T/ST, or NS1200 Server This procedure describes how to update the firmware in an NS2000/T/ST, or NS1200 server one blade element at a time while the system remains online. This procedure assumes you have already obtained an updated boot CD for each blade element in the server. The boot CD is available from Scout for NonStop Servers. The product number is T8004.
NOTE: This CD must remain in the blade element until a future HSS firmware update is required and the CD is replaced. 6. 7. 8. Use the OSM Power Down Blade Element action on the Blade Element object to be updated. Power on the blade element by pushing the power button (3). Reload the processor: a. Verify that the associated processor is halted. Use the OSM Service Connection to check the attributes of the associated Logical Processor object. The Processor State (from ME) should be Halted. b.
Updating Blade Element Firmware in an NS1000 Server This procedure describes how to update the firmware in an NS1000 server one blade element at a time while the system remains online. A CD is the HSS boot device in an HP Integrity NonStop NS1000 server. This procedure assumes you have already obtained an updated NS1000FW CD for each blade element in the server.
e. f. Place the new HSS Firmware CD in the DVD drive tray. Gently push the tray to close it. CAUTION: You must close the tray immediately, or the CD will not be detected. If this happens, repeat Steps 2 and 4 to power off the blade element and then back on, and then continue. NOTE: • The System LED blinks green until you reload the processor in the following step. • This CD must remain in the blade element until a future HSS firmware update is required and the CD is replaced.
