Updating Firmware in an NS-Series Server

About This Procedure
This procedure describes how to update all blade element firmware in an HP Integrity NonStop
NS2400, NS2400T, NS2400ST, NS2300, NS2200, NS2200T, NS2200ST, NS2100, NS2000,
NS2000T, NS2000ST, NS1200 or NS1000 server. Where applicable:
• NS2400, NS2400T, and NS2400ST servers are referred to as NS2400/T/ST servers.
• NS2200, NS2200T, and NS2200ST servers are referred to as NS2200/T/ST servers.
• NS2000, NS2000T, and NS2000ST servers are referred to as NS2000/T/ST servers.
To update the firmware in a single blade element after replacing it, authorized service providers
should use either:
• Replacing an NS2x00 Series Blade Element FRU or Fan or Servicing Memory
• Replacing an NS2000, NS2000T, N2000ST, NS1200, or NS1000 Blade Element FRU or
Fan or Upgrading Memory
FRUs must be replaced by HP authorized service providers. Refer to NonStop Firmware Matrices
for updating System Firmware and other firmware.

Location of This OSM Replace Action
In the OSM Service Connection tree pane: System> Blade Complex> Blade Element> Right-click,
select Actions> Firmware Update
Supported Release Version Updates (RVUs)
This topic supports J06.06 and all subsequent J-series RVUs and H06.03 and all subsequent H-series
RVUs until otherwise indicated in a replacement publication.
Intended Audience
These procedures are written for those who have completed HP training for and are responsible
for providing system support and maintenance for HP NonStop NS2400/T/ST, NS2300,
NS2200/T/ST, NS2100, NS2000/T/ST, NS1200, or NS1000 servers.
