System Discovery Causes the Windows Event
Viewer Application Log to Become Full
Symptom
During system discovery, many events are generated that can cause the
event log to become full.
Versions
Windows NT
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Problem
Event logs are configured to be cleared manually and have not been cleared,
or too many days are set to retain the events. The default is normally 7 days.
Fix
Clear the log, reconfigure the size, or change the setting for overwriting
events.
