Troubleshooting the SLSA Subsystem
Starting the SLSA Subsystem Processes and Objects
This procedure describes how to start the required ServerNet LAN Systems Access (SLSA) processes
and objects. Use the SCF STATUS command as described in Verifying the SLSA Subsystem Processes
and Objects to verify that a process or object has entered the STARTED state.
Note: Angle brackets (for example, <line-name>) are used in command syntax to indicate values that
you must provide.
1 To start the LAN manager process, use the SCF START PROCESS command:
START PROCESS $ZZKRN.#ZZLAN
2 To start a LAN monitor process, use the SCF START MON command:
START MON $ZZLAN.ZLM<nn>
<nn> indicates the processor where the LAN monitor process should be started.
3 To start a ServerNet adapter, use the SCF START ADAPTER command:
START ADAPTER $ZZLAN.<adapter>
Note: The SCF START ADAPTER command does not start subordinate PIF and SAC
objects unless you specify the SUB ALL or SUB ONLY option. To start a SAC, see Step 4.
To start a PIF, see Step 5.
4 To start a ServerNet addressable controller (SAC), use the SCF START SAC command:
START SAC $ZZLAN.<adapter>.<sac>
The SCF START SAC command returns an error if the SAC goes into the STARTING state.
Errors that prevent the SAC from going to the STARTED state can be seen in the event log.
Note: The SCF START SAC command does not start subordinate PIF objects unless
you specify the SUB ALL or SUB ONLY option. To start a PIF, see Step 5.
