TSM Service Application: Logon Failures for
G06.04 and Later RVUs
Symptom
An error is received when attempting to log on to the TSM Service
Application, TSM client Version 7.0 or later, from a system console.
Version
G06.04 and later
TSM client software Version 7.0 or later
Problem
Can be caused by one of the following:
Incorrect logon information:
The user name or password is invalid.
The IP addresses entered for the service connection are
invalid.
LAN problem
Fix
Verify that you are entering a valid user name and password. Service
connections require a valid NonStop Kernel operating system user
name.
1.
Check the IP connection from your workstation to your server.
Perform the Session Responsive Test for the system from the TSM
Service Application.

Check the IP connection from your workstation to the NonStop
TCP/IP stack. Run C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\PING.EXE <server IP
address> or <server name>. If ping is successful, the IP connection is
up.

If ping fails, troubleshoot the TSM LAN using as described in the
following sections.

Troubleshooting the TSM Primary LAN (Cannot Connect to the Primary Service
Connection IP Address):
Issue the following command at a TACL prompt: 1.
SCF INFO PROCESS $ZZKRN.#TSM-ZTCP0, DETAIL
Check the CPU number in the resulting output:2.
If it is 00, go to Step 3.
If it is not 00, issue the following command:
