HP Fabric Clustering System

Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements

Supported HP PA Server Platforms:

NOTE One instance of HP-UX supports a maximum of 8 HCAs regardless of the platform or expander.

This is a software limit. No system will support more than 8 HCAs. If more than 8 HCAs are

plugged into a system (even with an expander), only 8 will be claimed.

Operating System Requirements

HP Fabric Clustering System is only supported on HP-UX 11i v2.

Patch Requirements

Internet Protocol over InfiniBand (IPoIB)

In order to use the Internet Protocol over InfiniBand (IPoIB) the following patch needs to be installed on each

server using IPoIB on the HP Fabric Clustering System:

• HP Integrity Platform

— PHKL _31500 or later patch bundle (DLPI and transport bits)

— SAM patch PHCO_31820

— NeTTL patch PHNE_31735

NOTE IP Filter is not required for IPoIB functionality, but if IP Filter is present, it should be

upgraded to either IP Filter product version A.03.05.09 or A.03.05.06.V2, or any later

version.

• HP PA Platform

— It is recommended that you install the 11i v2 September 2004 OE version B.11.23.0409 or later

release. If you are running this release, no patches are required to run IPoIB on a PA system.
