Audio Patches for HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23) and 11i v3 (B.11.31)
System firmware level 03.01 changes the mapping of I/O port space for the audio driver. This
change affects applications that generate an audio output for an installed sound card. In most
cases, the audio application will hang, and no audio will be produced. To resolve this issue,
download the following patches from the HP IT Resource Center (ITRC) web site at http://

Ignite-UX Recovery Procedure for SAS Devices: Attached Storage disks on
Core IO for rx2660, rx3600 and rx6600 on HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX
11i v3 in legacy mode
DESCRIPTION When using Ignite-UX to reinstall or recover a system on HP-UX 11i v2 and for
legacy devices on HP-UX 11i v3, the hardware path for SAS devices may unexpectedly change
if certain changes were made to the SAS device configuration. Such changes to the SAS device
configuration may result in a loss of data when system recovery is attempted.
Ignite-UX uses the hardware path of a device as the unique identifier for a device. Certain changes
to the SAS device configuration breaks the ability of Ignite-UX to automatically access the correct
devices when the SAS configuration changes. Only certain changes break the association of
hardware path to SAS device.
The following SAS configuration changes may cause the hardware path associated with a SAS
device to change if the system is reinstalled or recovered:
Placing a SAS device into an empty lower numbered Bay
Creating/Updating (adding or deleting) a SAS RAID device post-installation
Swapping two or more SAS devices
Permanently removing a SAS device when there are still devices in higher numbered bays
Moving a SAS device from one SAS Host Bus Adaptor (HBA) to another
When HP Integrity rx2660, rx3600 and rx6600 servers are shipped from HP, the SAS bays may
be populated from 8 and working downwards. Placing a new SAS device into a lower bay number
will cause the hardware paths to change after a new cold-install or recovery session. When you
