HP Integrity Servers with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 SP2 Release Notes v7.1

Servers rx7640, rx8640, Superdome SX2000
Workaround None. You can ignore the PCI slot numbers in Windows Device Manager that
are not in the system for these embedded devices.
IPMI SEL Events
Event ID 121 during upgrade to Integrity Support Pack 7.1
Issue During an upgrade of Integrity Support Pack 7.0 to Integrity Support Pack 7.1,
the following error might be logged to Windows IPMI System Event Log (SEL)
with HpInsightMgmtProvs event source and event ID 121:
[Event Synchronization Process] An IPMI communication error occurred: 0xFF. See C:\Program
Files\HPWBEM\Health\EvtSync.Log for details.
This error occurs if the IPMI driver was being updated when the Event
Synchronization Process tried to access IPMI SEL information.
Servers All Integrity
Workaround There is no workaround. After the IPMI driver update is completed, the Event
Synchronization Process can read the IPMI SEL entries successfully.
New events in the System Event Log (SEL)
Issue When viewing the SEL events from the MP SL viewer, you might see some new
events of type DC or DD.
Servers All Integrity
Workaround These are informational events. When the system is booted up, a type DC event
entry is generated in the SEL. When the system is gracefully shut down, one or
more type DD event entries are generated in the SEL.
Network Interface Cards (NICs)
AD385A NIC card can affect server performance under a load
Issue When handling IPv6 traffic, a server with the Neterion AD385A NIC card installed
can exhibit sluggish performance. In some cases, a DPC Watchdog timeout event
occurs.
Servers Superdome SX2000, rx8640, rx7640, rx6600, rx3600, rx2660
Workaround Set the RssBaseCpu registry value in HLKM\System\CurrentControlSet\
Services\NDIS\Parameters to 8 (the default is 4). For more information,
see the Receive-Side Scaling Enhancements in Windows Server 2008 white paper
at http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/network/NDIS_RSS.mspx
Smart Array
Blue screen displays when Smart Array cards are hot removed
Issue A blue screen is displayed when Smart Array P800/E500 and P400 cards are
hot removed with no storage attached.
Servers All supported Integrity servers
Workaround HP does not recommend any hot replace or hot add functions for these cards in
the 7.0 release.
