Microsoft® Internet Information Services might be needed for certain SMS site system roles.
Internet access might be needed if the sync tool is installed on the system ("Obtaining the HP
manifest catalog with the sync tool" on page 24).
IMPORTANT: Localized language support for SMS Servers is provided by specific Microsoft® hotfixes. HP
expects to support German, French, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and the SMS International Client Pack on
SMS Servers at a later date. At that time, you will need to apply the appropriate hotfixes to use localized
versions of the SMS server. The required hotfixes are available on the
Microsoft® website
(
http://support.microsoft.com/). Use of localized versions of SMS without these hotfixes will not work and is
not supported.
NOTE: Hard disk space for the HP repository is maintained in a local or network share folder. The current
size of the HP repository is approximately 1.08 GB, and it will continue to grow as additional updates are
released.
SMS client servers
Most HP ProLiant and Integrity servers are supported as SMS clients. Those that are not supported have
not been tested by HP and might not display inventory information correctly. Specific exclusions include
the following systems:
Older ProLiant servers that precede the BL, DL, and ML product lines
Older HP NetServer servers
