NOTE: Running the scan tool on an unsupported server will generate an error code. See "Troubleshooting

Supported operating systems
The inventory tool supports SMS operations for HP ProLiant servers running the following operating
systems:
Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003
Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003 x64 Editions
Microsoft® Windows® Server 2000 with SP4 or later
The inventory tool also supports SMS operations for HP Integrity servers running the following operating
systems:
Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003, Enterprise Edition with SP1 for Itanium-based Systems
Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003, Datacenter Edition with SP1 for Itanium-based Systems
SMS platform support
The SMS Inventory Tool for HP ProLiant and Integrity Update has been developed and tested for use with
Microsoft® SMS 2003 SP1 and SP2. Previous versions of SMS must be updated and all applicable
Microsoft® hotfixes must be applied to integrate properly with the inventory tool.
System requirements
The SMS Advanced Client Agent must be installed on managed servers. In addition, you must run a
hardware inventory cycle on the managed servers that are to be grouped by the predefined HP
collections.
SMS site servers
For a comprehensive list of the minimum hardware and software requirements to install the inventory tool,

HP Integrity servers are not supported as SMS site servers or sync hosts.
HP recommends the following minimum system requirements on HP ProLiant servers running Microsoft®
SMS 2003 SP1 or SP2.
