Removing the PCI Smart Fan Assembly
1. Securely grasp the two tabs on the fan assembly (Figure 89).
2. Slide the fan upward from the chassis.

Replacing the PCI Smart Fan Assembly
1. Position the fan assembly in the chassis.
2. The fan easily slides into the chassis; apply a slow, firm pressure to properly seat the connection.
The fan status LED should be GREEN.
3. Replace the top cover. See “Removing and Replacing Covers” (page 136).
Removing and Replacing a PCI-X Power Supply
The PCI-X power supply is located in the front of the chassis (Figure 90). The power subsystem has
N+1 redundancy when both power supplies are installed. It is not necessary to power down the
PCI domain to replace a failed PCI-X power supply.
