Cloud bursting with HP CloudSystem Matrix infrastructure orchestration: Matrix-to-Matrix, HP Matrix KVM Private Cloud, HP Cloud Services, and Amazon EC2
Provisioning to an external cloud in Matrix infrastructure orchestration
The following sections describe how to create a template and create a service to deploy to a Cloud Resource.
Launch infrastructure orchestration designer
To access HP Matrix infrastructure orchestration designer using a browser, navigate to the following URL and log in:
https://<cms-ip-address>:51443/hpio/designer/. (Clicking New or Edit on the Templates tab in the infrastructure orchestration
console also launches the designer.)
Create a template
Perform the following steps to create a cloud server template.
1. Drag one or more Virtual Server Group (which includes a Virtual Storage icon) and Network icons to the components frame, and
connect the Network component to the server group.
2. Select the Software tab, and select a cloud image.
The Source column is not displayed by default. Click the table icon on the right side of the screen, and check Source. This
makes it easier to select software from a particular Cloud Resource, if desired.
Public cloud images have different identifiers in each availability zone or region. An IO template that is bound to an image in a
particular zone or region can be provisioned only to that zone or region, unless template customization is used when the service is
created.
Note: Operating system size information is not available for images from Amazon S3 or from providers accessed via the Nova
adapter. In these cases, the image size is shown as 10 GB. The potential discrepancy does not affect the provisioning behavior.
