2 Central Management Server requirements This chapter provides the minimum hardware and software requirements for a CMS running a supported Microsoft Windows operating system (OS). CMS hardware requirements Table 1 lists the hardware requirements for a single-server CMS.

HP recommends allocating 12 MB per system per year of history. For example, a total of 2000 power managed systems, monitored PDUs/PDRs, and associated racks and data centers consumes approximately 24 GB of disk space for one year of power history data.

connect and communicate with the deployment server to register inventory and configuration information and to run deployment and management tasks. The deployment server can be local to the CMS or can be located on a remote server. NOTE: This release of Insight Management also supports the configuration of the CMS as a two-node failover cluster. For more information about a CMS configuration in a high availability environment, see Chapter 3.

3 Central Management Server requirements in a high availability environment This release of Insight Management supports the configuration of the CMS as a single-site, two-node physical server Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Failover Cluster to create a highly-available environment. Using failover clustering with Insight Management is a simple way to achieve redundancy, availability, load balancing, and failover capability.

4 Managed system hardware and firmware requirements This chapter provides the hardware, firmware, and software requirements for servers that can be licensed and managed by Insight Management.
Supported servers This section lists the HP and third-party servers that can be managed by Insight Management. Older servers that are not listed in this support matrix might still work with Insight Management. However, HP has stopped testing Insight Management on older servers and does not claim them to be officially supported.

supports the Version Control environment (including the ability to present storage to an initiator WWN which is not yet visible on the fabric), N_Port MOE Virtualization (NPIV), and boot-from-SAN capability (boot volume as a pre-presented LUN). Matrix OE now supports SAN-based storage for Integrity VM logical servers. For more information, see the HP Insight Virtualization Manager 7.0 software with Logical Server Management User Guide.
NOTES: • The 3PAR F-Class, T-Class, or P10000 FC array you use must be certified with the version of Virtual Connect firmware supported by this version of Matrix OE, and it must be fully operational before being configured with and used by Matrix OE. • HP Storage Provisioning Manager 2.0 supports 3PAR Fibre Channel arrays but does not support 3PAR features such as autonomic groups, virtual domains, and peer motion. • F-Class, T-Class, and P10000 3PAR arrays require InForm OS version 3.1.
