Server workflows for HP Matrix Operating Environment
5
The sections below explain the details of installing ESA and setting up the server workflows with necessary
configurations required on both ESA and OO.
Installing ESA
ESA is packaged with Matrix OE software. When Matrix OE is installed, ESA will be installed under C:\Program
Files\HP\Virtual Server Environment\esa.
The ESA service (HP Extensible Server Adapter) will start running immediately after successful installation of Matrix
OE. The ESA service is available for clients on port 52000 (non-secure connection) and also on port 52001 (secure
connection).
After successful installation, ESA needs to be configured to interact with OO for invoking server workflows.
Upgrading ESA
When Matrix OE software is upgraded, ESA will be upgraded to newer version. For certain 6.2 releases, there are
intermediate patches which must be applied between two upgrades. The table below summarizes the base version,
the patch to be applied, and the target version for upgrade:

After applying any patch and/or successful upgrade, ESA must beconfigured for interacting with the OO server.
Configuring ESA
Note: ESA configuration files areallowed to be read and written only by users who are part of the Administrators
group.
Configuring esa.properties
For ESA to interact with OO locally (on the same CMS server), the following configuration is required:
1. Open the esa.properties file,  located under C:\Program Files\HP\Virtual Server Environment\conf.
2. Change the following and restart the ESA service from the Windows service console.
#
#OO - Configuration
#
esa.oo.admin.password=<oo password>
If ESA needs to interact with a remote standalone OO server, then the following additional configuration is required
in the esa.properties file:
esa.oo.host=<oo server>
esa.oo.port=<port>
esa.oo.san.replytoURI=http://<CMS Server>:52000/esa/services/oostorageservice?wsdl
esa.oo.server.replytoURI=http:// <CMS Server>:52000/esa/services/ooserverservice?wsdl
