Check that all hosts are connected to the datastore
and have the correct network connections.
The datacenter is named after the service
and the cluster is named after the server
group in the template
Step 4: Provision a virtual service on the cluster
Create a virtual IO template and use it to provision a virtual service on the cluster. This should work as for any other
ESXi cluster.
Step 5: Perform IO life-cycle operations on a cluster
As long as the workflows for life-cycle operations were attached in Step 3: Attach OO workflows of creating the
template, the following life-cycle operations can be applied to a cluster: add a server, add a disk, and delete a
service.
Add a server
Precondition:
The service has not reached the maximum number of servers in
the cluster logical server group.
The server to be added is identical to the other blades in the
cluster.
Result:
The server is added to the cluster.
The new server will boot but existing VM hosts will not.
Add a disk
Depending on how the storage is configured in Matrix, there are different ways to add a disk to a cluster (for
more information, see Appendix 4: Configuring storage in Matrix.
a. Adding a disk in a new predefined single-volume SPE
Precondition:
There are no guests running on the VM hosts.
An SPE appropriate for the data store is available.
Result:
The VM hosts are rebooted.
The SPE is added as a data store.
