With the combination of the advanced visualization,
real-time planning, and the speed and ease of
mov ing resources with logical servers, HP Insight
Dynamics – VSE helps you achieve higher levels of
availability and better quality of service more eco-
nomically than with traditional clustering solutions.
You can quickly move server profiles to spare capac-
ity to maintain availability. You can reactivate stored
templates to rapidly restart applications and maintain
the level of service quality to the business. And you
can shorten maintenance windows by creating and
moving workloads as logical servers, and enabling
more proactive maintenance.
HP Insight Dynamics – VSE integrates with other virtu-
alization technology vendor tools, including VMware
ESX and ESXi and Microsoft
®
Hyper-V, to facilitate
higher levels of availability across both the physical
and virtual infrastructure. In addition, it can also be
extended with the Insight Recovery option for cost-
effective disaster recovery from one location to another.
Provision infrastructure consistently.
HP Insight Dynamics – VSE enables you to manage
the lifecycle of your infrastructure, from planning
to retirement, consistently and efficiently. With the
optional HP Insight Orchestration extension, you can
accelerate the design and delivery of infrastructure
resources through a self-service portal.
HP Insight Orchestration enables your IT architects to
create logical server templates based on HP reference
architectures. These templates can then be started,
stopped, and stored off line for re-use. This means
you can now visually design a catalog of infrastruc-
ture service templates, including multi-tier, multi-node
configurations, that can be activated in minutes.
To ease the load on your IT staff and streamline pro-
cesses, HP Insight Orchestration enables self-service
provisioning. Authorized users can provision infra-
structure from pools of shared server and storage
resources via a self-service portal. This portal includes
features to automate and streamline the approval
process for requested infrastructure.
In addition, HP Insight Orchestration is designed to
integrate with existing IT management tools and pro-
cesses using an embedded workflow automation
tool. Integration can make the infrastructure delivery
process work more efficiently and reliably across IT
architects, administrators, and operations teams.
