1 HP Power Regulator for Integrity servers require Dual-Core Intel Itanium Processor 9100 series dual-core 1.6 GHz 18/24 MB parts.
It also requires HP-UX 11.31 with patches PHKL 36654 PHKL 37031, PHKL 37032, PHKL 36477, PHKL 36478 or Microsoft
Windows Server 2008 with the "HP platform-controlled Power management" driver (other operating systems to be announced). If
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 was factory installed by HP, then the driver is already installed. If you have installed Microsoft
Windows Server 2008, then you need to obtain HP's Smart Setup CD and manually install this Smart Component. The Smart Setup
CD is available as part of the HP Integrity Essentials Foundation Pack for Microsoft Windows (T2369AA) or is available from http:/
/www.hp.com under "Software and Driver downloads" for your platform.
2 When implementing power capping for HP BladeSystem, HP recommends using Enclosure Dynamic Power Capping set through
either the Onboard Administrator or Insight Control power management user interfaces. To use Enclosure Dynamic Power Capping,
you must upgrade your iLO 2 firmware to version 1.70 or greater and iLO 3 to version 1.0 or greater, and are encouraged to
update your system ROM to version 10/1/2008 or greater for iLO 2, and May 2010 or later for iLO 3 for G7 servers. For some
older BL460c servers, the iLO 2 firmware may not be able to automatically update the Dynamic Power Capping hardware circuit.
In these instances, the Onboard Administrator will compensate for the absence of the internal hardware circuit and continue to
guarantee circuit protection.
3 This server only supports power/thermal monitoring and capping with certain power supply options. See the server QuickSpecs
for detailed requirements.
4 This server only supports Power Capping. It does not support Dynamic Power Capping.
5 This server model does not support HP Dynamic Power Savings mode.
IMPORTANT: System firmware versions 03.32 and later require you to install the PHKL_37724 HP-UX
patch in order for HP-UX to respond to power policy changes made through Insight Control power
management.
