Compatibility and installation requirements
This section describes the compatibility information and installation requirements for this release.
For specific installation instructions, see the HP Integrity Virtual Server Manager v6.0 User Guide.
For a list of complete features of Virtual Server Manager, VM Provider v4.3 PK2 and later is
required.
Required software
Virtual Server Manager requires the following software:
• HP Integrity VM
• VM Provider
• Utilization Provider
You can download the Virtual Server Manager software from the following website:
http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot
Enter VMMGR in the Search field at the top of the page and click and click Search button to obtain
the search results.
Operating system and version compatibility
This release is specific for HP-UX 11i v3.
Hardware requirements
Server
Currently, vPars v6.0 is only supported on the following Integrity blades – BL860c i2, BL870c i2,
and BL890c i2. You can create up to 31 virtual partitions in an 8 socket 32 core BL890c i2 with
each of them having one dedicated physical processor core, or you can create a single virtual
partition with 31 cores on that same server (or anything in between). Table 2 (page 7) lists the
maximum vPars allowed per server model.

Firmware
The latest available firmware for the blade server can be installed. Firmware bundle 2011.05 is
the minimum requirement.
Required disk space
The minimum required disk space is 288 KB.
