HP Matrix Operating Environment 7.3 Update 1 Installation and Configuration Guide for Provisioning with Virtual Resources

4 Installing Insight Management software on the CMS
This chapter describes the steps for installing HP Insight Management software on the CMS.
Installing and configuring the CMS
NOTE: As a best practice, it is recommended that an installation and service account be created
to use when installing Insight Management software.
IMPORTANT: Be sure any antivirus software has been disabled prior to installation of Insight
Management software. Otherwise, the installation can take an extraordinarily long time or the
installation might fail.
To install the required software on the CMS:
1. Check the current HP Insight Management Installation and Upgrade Release Notes for updated
pre-installation steps. Pay attention to required component updates, product patches, or newly
released dependent or prerequisite products.
2. Connect to the CMS using either the iLO Remote Console or Microsoft Remote Desktop. If you
use Remote Desktop, make sure to connect using the mstsc/console or /admin switch
(depending on your client version).
mstsc /admin /v:10.1.1.10
NOTE: Before proceeding, make sure that the system time and time zone are set correctly.
3. Mount the HP Insight Management DVD #1. If you are using an ISO utility, make sure it is set
to automatically remount the ISO after a reboot; otherwise, you have to manually remount the
image. If the main license agreement does not automatically launch, use AutoPlay to start the
installation. Agree to the main license agreement.
4. Click Run Insight Management Advisor to confirm the CMS has met all the prerequisites. Insight
Management Advisor should always be run before CMS installation to identify problems that
may interfere with the installation.
The Insight Management Advisor Welcome screen appears.
