Chapter 6 Configuring Media-IXT: an Overview
Media-IXT port usage
It’s useful to know which ports are being used by which protocols. Here is a summary that provides the default
ports as a point of reference--if you use non-standard ports, of course, you should keep a record of those. Note
that which ports are used depend on whether Media-IXT is a forward or a reverse proxy.
With transparency (ARM) installed:
ARM redirects 554 to 1091;
all RTSP requests therefore go to 1091;
RealPlayers are sent redirects, and then communicate with RealProxy on port 9231.
For WMT, ARM rewrites packets coming in on port 1755 with the correct source/destination addresses.
