Building Disaster Recovery Serviceguard Solutions Using Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA A.05.01
Figure 11 Applying the Configuration
Easy deployment of Metrocluster modular packages
Starting with Serviceguard version A.11.20, the Package Easy Deployment feature is introduced.
This feature is available from the Serviceguard Manager version B.03.10. It provides a simple
way to deploy Metrocluster modules in supported toolkit applications.
For detailed information about the Package Easy Deployment feature, see Using Easy Deployment
in Serviceguard and Metrocluster Environments available at http://www.hp.com/go/
hpux-serviceguard-docs —>HP Serviceguard.
The advantage offered by the Package Easy Deployment feature is that none of the Metrocluster
module parameters have to be entered by the user in the modular package configuration file. The
appropriate Metrocluster module along with proper values for its parameters is added to the
package configuration file automatically based on the type of disks used by the supported toolkit
application. If the P6000/EVA disks used by the application are replicated, the dts/mccaeva
module is automatically added into the package configuration file.
The following dts/mccaeva parameters are auto-discovered:
• DR_GROUP_NAME
• DC1_STORAGE_WORLD_WIDE_NAME
• DC1_SMIS_LIST
• DC1_HOST_LIST
• DC2_STORAGE_WORLD_WIDE_NAME
• DC2_SMIS_LIST
• DC2_HOST_LIST
• dts/dts/dts_pkg_dir is automatically set to /etc/cmcluster/<package_name>
The default values are used for rest of the dts/mccaeva module attributes.
