Operational Space Requirements
The HP MCS unit is wider and deeper (Figure 6) than conventional HP racks to provide for internal
airflow and housing of the modular cooling unit components. The recommended minimum amount
of access space for an installed HP MCS is 4 feet (1219 mm) in the front and 3 feet (914 mm) in
the rear.

The HP Modular Cooling System with server rack requires considerations such as weight and aisle
spacing. The system includes leveling feet and does not require fastening to the floor. Care should
be taken during the loading of the equipment to ensure the enclosure remains stable during
operation and servicing to avoid personnel and equipment damage.
Figures 7 and 8 provide detailed dimensions and leveling foot placement for the HP MCS for floor
loading.
