HP MPX200 Mutifunction Router Command Line Interface User Guide (5697-2512, May 2013)

Authority requirements
The various set commands perform tasks that may require you to be in an administrator session.
Note the following:
Commands related to monitoring tasks are available to all account names.
Commands related to configuration tasks are available only within an Admin session. An
account must have Admin authority to enter the admin start command, which opens an
admin session (see admin” (page 12)).
admin
Opens and closes an Admin session. Any command that changes the router configuration must be
done in an Admin session. An inactive Admin session times out after 15 minutes.
Authority
Admin session
Syntax
admin {start | end | cancel}
Keywords
start (or begin) opens the Admin session.
end (or stop) closes the Admin session. The logout, shutdown, and reset commands also
end an Admin session.
cancel terminates an Admin session opened by another user. Use this keyword with care because
it terminates the Admin session without warning the other user and without saving pending changes.
Notes
Closing a Telnet window during an Admin session does not release the session. When using Telnet,
you must either wait for the Admin session to time out, or use the admin cancel command.
