• Fixed a rare condition when the OCP would continue to show <-Close Mailslot when the
mailslot was closed. Pressing the front panel buttons would not cause a change in the display.
• The Library no w displays the message Enc ryption kit not available du e to incom patible librar y
hardware. Please contact HP service on the remote management interface Configuration: Securit y
screen when it detects one of the few chassis that do not support the HP StorageWorks 1/8
G2 and MSL Encryption Kit. If you see this message and have purchased the Encryption Kit,
contact HP Service.
• Fixed a case where the Library could appear unresponsive when used with network securit y
programs that constantly check the securit y status of all network por ts. Usually Drive
Communication (code: F1 xx) errors w ere the last entries in the library logs.
• Fixed a case where the Library could appear unresponsive after the operator issued a command
fromtheOCPtoremoveamagazinebutthemagazinewasnotremoved.
• Fixed a case wh ere the time stamp in the library logs would be recorded as one day earlier
than the library time.
• Fixed a case where error retry Code 88 00 (set ting of sled motor parameters failed) was
incorrectly logged during the power up sequence.
• Fixed a case where error c ode 9B (sled position sensor not found) was reported at ambient
temperatures below 10 C when the mailslot did not pop out more than 15 mm.
• Fixed a case where the Library would repor t Not Ready after running the Dem o Test.
• Improved an error message in the Wellness test when an upper corner s lot is empty.
• The Library temperature is now reported on LOG SENSE page 0x0D.
• Fixed a case where the Library could not detect when the mailslot was closed very quickly.

When usi
ng this firmware version (4.20) or future revisions with the Encryption Kit , any key server tokens
set with
an odd number of characters for the PIN will not be totally backwards compa tible in Autoloaders
or Libraries with code revis ions 2.10, 4.00, 6.30, or 8.70 (the previous released versions). In those
cases, a token in an Autoloader or Librar y with 2.10, 4.00, 6.30, or 8.70 firmware revisions will be
able to
accept the PIN for the token and access keys on the token, but the user will not be able to
changethePINonthetoken,savethekeystoafile, or r estore the keys from a file until the Autoloader
or Library firmware is upgraded. Users should always upgrade to the latest version of firmware to
ensure complete compatibility.
Installation instructions
To upgrade firm w are from the RMI:
1. Download current firmware using HP Library & Tape Tools or from the HP support website:

2. Log into the RMI as the administrator user.
3. In the Support: Firmware page, browse to the location of the Librar y firmware file.
4. Cli ck Update.
To upgrade firmware from the OCP using a USB flash drive:
1. Download current firmware using HP Library & Tape Tools or from the HP support website:

2. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the back of the Autoloader.
3. From the Home screen, press Next until the screen displays Suppor t.PressEnter to select.
4. Press Next until the scre en displays Autoloader FW upgrade.PressEnter to select.
