Description
This release includes updated tape drive firmware for Ultrium 1840 full-height parallel SCSI and Fibre
Channel HP StorageWorks MSL2024, MSL4048, and MSL8096 Tape Libraries.
The tape drive firmware can be updated through any of the following methods:
• Remote management interface (RMI).
• Operator control panel (OCP).
• HP Library and Tape Tools (L&TT).

• B49W — parallel SCSI
• H49W — Fibre Channel

Enhancements
• The data encryption algorithm support page is implemented per T10 Standard T10/08-029r2.
• The keyless copy encryption model used by some backup applications now supports the T10
standard T10/06-462r8.
• The encryption status information maintained by the tape drive can now accommodate VCELB
(volume contains encrypted logical blocks).
Fixes
• If encryption is enabled in the Library, the drive will ask for a write key, even if the cartridge does
not encryption capable.
• Fixed a case where the ADC device server was reporting an incorrect field pointer when reporting
invalid field in parameter list.
• Fixed a case where the tape drive could appear unresponsive during HP StorageWorks Virtual
Library System (VLS) automigration if more than four commands are queued from the same host.
• Fixed a case where the drive firmware reported an old revision after a firmware upgrade or
downgrade.
