MSL2024 and MSL4048 Tape Libraries - Addendum (AH169-96002, November 2006)

Auto cleaning is disabled by default. You c an enable automatic cleaning even if there are no cleaning
cartridges in the device. In this case, the device will display a warning message.
WARNING!
Only enable automatic cleaning in either the b ackup application or the Tape Library, not both.
To configure automatic cleaning with the RMI, check Auto Cl ean Enabled on the Configuration > System
page, select the Auto Clean Enabled box as shown in Figure 2.

To configure automatic cleaning with the MSL2024 OCP:
1. From the Home screen, press Next until the screen displays Configuration.PressEnter to select.
2. Press Prev or Next until the screen displays Configure Auto Cl eaning .PressEnter to select.
3. Press Prev or Next until the screen displays Auto C l eaning Disabled or Auto Cl ea ning Enabled.To
change the auto cleaning configuration, press Enter.
4. Press Prev or Next until the screen displays the c on fig uration you want. Press Enter.
To configure automatic cleaning with the MSL4048 OCP:
1. Highlight Configuration > Library.PressOK to select.
2. Use the Up and Down arrows to select Auto Cl eaning.PressOK to select.
3. Use the Up and Down arrows to Enable or Disable Auto Cleaning. Press OK to select.
4. Save the configuration.
