Version: 1070 Description This release includes updated firmware for the HP StorageWorks MSL8048 and MSL8096 Tape Libraries. The Library firmware can be updated through any of the following methods: • Remote management interface (RMI). • Operator control panel (OCP) using a USB flash drive. • HP Library and Tape Tools (L&TT). Library firmware version 1070 Compatible robotics firmware version 3.10e Update recommendation Recommended Supersedes All previous versions of Library firmware.

• Previous release versions did not include the HP-defined Event Code in binding #6 of the SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) trap data. This release provides the HP specific Event Code as well as the product level event code with the SNMP trap data. • The SNMP community string can now accept an “_” (underscore) character. Previous versions did not allow this character. Version 1040 • Added control path failover and data path failover features.

4. 5. 6. Click Firmware on the main toolbar. On the Update Firmware tab, select the box next to each device for which you want to update firmware. If firmware is currently available for that device, it is shown in Firmware File in the File Selection section of the screen. Click Start Update at the bottom of the screen to begin the update. Determining current version To find the version of firmware installed on the Library, see the RMI Support: Firmware screen or the OCP Info > Library Identity option.
