Description
This release includes updated tape drive firmware for Ultrium 1840 full-height parallel SCSI and Fibre
Channel HP StorageWorks MSL2024, MSL4048, MSL8048, and MSL8096 Tape Libraries.
The tape drive firmware can be updated through any of the following methods:

Supersedes All earlier versions of tape drive firmware.

more Ultrium 1840 full-height parallel SCSI or Fibre Channel tape drives.

Enhancements
B63W and H68W
• Error rate counters are now cleared on each load rather than being cumulative since power on.
B62W and H66W
• To improve drive reliability, an additional calibration may be done when loading a tape to account
for variations in media.
• Changed drive tuning to improve reading capability on some tapes written by non-HP drives.
Fixes
B63W and H68W
• Fixed 5090/5092 errors by enabling functionality to use adjacent channel information during
Space/Locate commands.
B62W and H66W
• Fixed an issue where differences between the power on times reported in HP Library and Tape
Tools (L&TT) tickets and the drive logs could be observed.
• Fixed a case where a false Tape Alert could be reported by the drive when no tape is loaded and
an L&TT support ticket is downloaded from the library.
