Usage guidelines
When you modify parameters on an ATM or a DSL interface, execute the shutdown command, and then
the undo shutdown command to make your modifications take effect.
Examples
# Shut down interface ATM 1/0.
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] interface atm 1/0
[Sysname-Atm1/0] shutdown

cable (ATM E1 interface)
Use cable to set the cable mode of the ATM E1 interface.
Use undo cable to restore the default.
Syntax
cable { long | short }
undo cable
Default
Long haul mode applies, allowing of cable length mode adaptation. The long haul mode is adopted first.
If the cable is of short haul mode, the system switches to the short haul mode automatically.

Parameters
long: Long haul mode, with cable length in the range of 151 to 500 m (495 to 1640 ft).
short: Short haul mode, with cable length in the range of 0 to 150 m (0 to 495 ft).
Usage guidelines
To specify the short haul mode, use the cable short command.

# Set the cable mode of interface ATM 1/0 to long haul.
