Configuring WAN interfaces
This chapter describes how to configure interfaces for connecting to WAN networks, including X.25,
Frame Relay, ATM, and ISDN. Available WAN interfaces include:
• AM interface
• ATM interface
• AUX interface
• CE1/PRI interface
• CE3 interface
• CT1/PRI interface
• CT3 interface
• FCM interface
• ISDN BRI interface
• Synchronous/asynchronous serial interface
• USB interface
• 3G/4G modem interface

Hardware compatibility

CE3 and CT3 interface modules
The modules do not support subrate configuration if the module
hardware version is earlier than Hardware 2.2.
MSR900 series Supports only the AUX and USB 3G/4G modem interfaces.
MSR93X series
The JG514A, JG515A and JG531A support serial interfaces.
The JG516A and JG517A support G.SHDSL interfaces.
The JG518A, JG519A, JG520A and JG597A support ADSL2+
interfaces.
The JG513A, JG515A, JG531A, JG517A, JG520A, JG596A and
JG665A support 3G/4G modem interfaces.
Only the JG597A supports ISDN BRI interface.
Configuring an asynchronous serial interface
The following types of asynchronous serial interfaces are available:
• Synchronous/asynchronous serial interface operating in asynchronous mode, whose interface
index begins with Serial.
• Dedicated asynchronous serial interface, whose interface index begins with Async.
