Usage guidelines
When the modem is in auto-answer mode (the AA LED of the modem lights up), use the modem
auto-answer command to prevent the device from issuing answer instructions. If the modem is in
non-auto answer mode, use the undo modem auto-answer command to enable the device to issue
answer instructions on the arrival of incoming calls.
Make sure you set the same answer mode as on the mode. If a different answer mode is set, the modem
might operate incorrectly. Do not perform the operation unless absolutely needed.
Examples
# Configure the modem connected to the asynchronous serial interface user-interface1 to operate in
auto-answer mode.

Parameters
ata-waiting-time time: The maximum time (in milliseconds) that the modem waits for the POS terminal to
send the caller number. The value range for the time argument is 10 to 10000, and defaults to 1000.
After the period expires, the modem does not receive the caller number of the POS terminal. Adjust the
value of the time argument according to the link rate between the POS terminal and the POS access
device. If the link rate is low between the POS terminal and the POS access device, you must set a greater
value, and thus increase the modem's possibility of obtaining the caller number from the terminal.
