Syntax

Default
Aal5snap encapsulation is used.
Views
PVC view, ATM class view
Default command level
2: System level
Parameters
aal5-encap: Specifies an AAL5 encapsulation type. The following are available values:
aal5mux—MUX encapsulation
aal5nlpid—RFC1490 encapsulation
aal5snap—LLC/SNAP encapsulation
Usage guidelines
Among aal5snap, aal5mux and aal5nlpid, only aal5snap encapsulation supports InARP.
If InARP is enabled, you must disable it before changing AAL5 encapsulation to aal5mux or aal5nlpid.
An ATM PVC can carry multiple protocols simultaneously, but certain types of encapsulation might not
support some applications (one or more of IPoA, IPoEoA, PPPoA, and PPPoEoA). When such cases occur,
the system gives a prompt.
Examples
# Set the AAL5 encapsulation of PVC 1/32 on interface ATM 1/0 to aal5nlpid.
